Hi all,
Another clipPaste() question if I may ... The DXL help documentation (DOORS 9.2 here) goes to great lengths to explain how items pasted are renamed as per Windows explorer ("Copy of" or "Copy 2 of" etc.) if there's a duplicate item already in the destination folder. I've tried this out and it doesn't appear to actually do this at all. I always just get an error back from the clipPaste() call saying "Duplicate item name" and no renaming at all. Is there a way to turn on the renaming-on-duplicate-found behaviour as documented that I am missing ? Any help appreciated. Best regards, Ian IanFallon - Tue Oct 22 07:10:53 EDT 2013 |
Re: clipPaste() doesn't behave as per DXL help To be clear I am copy-pasting the module into another folder. Interestingly, in the DOORS GUI, it gives the same error message. However, if (in the DOORS GUI) I copy-paste a module _within the same folder_ then it DOES do the "Copy of" style renaming !?! |
Re: clipPaste() doesn't behave as per DXL help I see the comments in the manual for "clipCopy" says is renames "Copy of" for PROJECTS. However, it does seem to add "Copy of" as you'd expect, when copying-pasting within the same folder. I notice, however, if you copy in one folder and paste into another that already has something with the same name, THEN you get the "duplicate" error. That is similar to what Windows does, it does not add "Copy of" but it asks you if you want to REPLACE the existing one. -Louie |
